Iran threatens 45 tankers with fines, confiscation in Hormuz escalation

Iran blacklisted 45 tankers for allegedly breaking its Strait of Hormuz rules and warned it could fine, detain or seize cargoes — ships doing ship‑to‑ship transfers with them risk being added too.
The list names vessels linked to major regional players (UAE's ADNOC, Saudi Bahri and others), heightening tensions after recent U.S. threats and Iran's vow of a "devastating" response.
Despite the standoff, U.S.-coordinated efforts and the U.S. Navy say oil is still flowing through the Strait — the Gulf previously supplied about 20% of the world’s daily crude and LNG.
