Dozens of 7,000-year-old headless human skeletons found in ditch

Archaeologists uncovered 78 ancient skeletons in a ditch near Vráble, Slovakia — almost all missing their heads — dated to about 5250–4950 BCE.
Researchers say the skulls appear to have been removed skillfully after death and the bodies deliberately interred, pointing to ritual or social practices rather than a massacre.
The burials come from a large Neolithic farming settlement (roughly 300 houses) and shed new light on community life and burial customs during Europe's early agricultural period.
