New York sues 3M, DuPont and other companies over so-called forever chemicals

New York sued major companies (3M, DuPont, Chemours, Corteva) over PFAS — so-called “forever chemicals.”
PFAS are used in everyday items like cosmetics, nonstick pans, rainproof clothing and firefighting foam, and don’t break down, ending up in air, water and soil.
The state wants the companies to fund cleanups and warn consumers — some of these firms already faced a multibillion-dollar settlement with New Jersey.
