Wildlife conservation work to get £1m boost

The government has awarded £1.28m to Kent Wildlife Trust to fund species-recovery work around the River Stour and the ancient Blean woodlands.
The cash will boost England’s largest wild beaver population with more releases and habitat restoration, helping revive local wetlands.
Surveys and protection will target rare woodland species like the heath fritillary butterfly and turtle dove, with lessons used to shape recovery across England.
