Trump: 'Time to teach Canada you can't do this anymore'

President Trump said "it's time to teach Canada you can't do this anymore" after trade talks collapsed and imposed 50% tariffs on $20 billion of Canadian goods — plus 50% on autos starting Jan. 1.
Canada hit back with retaliatory tariffs on about $20 billion of U.S. imports and announced aid for affected businesses and workers; those tariffs start Sept. 8.
White House adviser Peter Navarro warned Canada will end up with a worse deal than the one it rejected, saying the U.S. offer was very favorable to Canada.
