Major improvement scheme starts on busy city road

  • Nottingham is starting a £1.3m revamp of Gregory Boulevard: 850m of new cycle path, road and pavement resurfacing, a new signal-controlled crossing and planting to help wildlife and surface water management.
  • Work begins Monday and will take about 13 months, finishing before the Goose Fair in Sept 2027 — expect temporary traffic lights, parking restrictions and short side-road closures with signed diversions.
  • The scheme is government- and East Midlands-funded, had about 69% public support, and runs alongside a £2.6m upgrade to the Forest Sports Zone — a tidy boost for walking, cycling and local amenities.
