Briton tells of surviving Spain wildfire in car as wife and friends died trying to walk to safety

A British man, Malcolm Timbrell, became separated from his wife Annette and a group of neighbours when a fast-moving wildfire ripped through the village of Bédar; they are feared to have been killed.
He went back to rescue their pet cats, which delayed him from the group; he survived by sheltering in a badly scorched car while the flames passed.
