'Surviving cancer isn't the end of the story'

Gemma Coleman, now 37, survived two cancers but went into surgical menopause at 34 after major operations that removed her ovaries and womb, meaning she can’t have biological children.
She and her husband hope to adopt one day while managing long-term side effects like chronic pain and fatigue during remission.
Gemma welcomed a £2.5m Cancer Research UK grant for ovarian cancer research at the University of Manchester, saying better treatments give her hope for the future.
