A new Kentucky AI data center will power Anthropic as part of a 20-year deal
- Anthropic signed a 20-year lease with TeraWulf to build a massive AI data center campus on a 750‑acre former aluminum smelter in Hawesville, Kentucky (population ~1,000).
- The lease is expected to generate about $19 billion in contracted revenue over the initial term and is said to be supported by investment‑grade credit.
- The phased campus will support roughly 400 MW (401 MW) of AI compute, with partial power in H2 2027 and full capacity by early 2028.
