A new Kentucky AI data center will power Anthropic as part of a 20-year deal

Anthropic signed a 20-year lease with TeraWulf to build a massive AI data center campus on a 750‑acre former aluminum smelter in Hawesville, Kentucky (population ~1,000).
The lease is expected to generate about $19 billion in contracted revenue over the initial term and is said to be supported by investment‑grade credit.
The phased campus will support roughly 400 MW (401 MW) of AI compute, with partial power in H2 2027 and full capacity by early 2028.
