Parkrun off for second week due to migrating frogs

Kirkharle Courtyard parkrun in Northumberland was cancelled for a second week after migrating frogs — organisers reported “thousands” crossing the course.
Unseasonably hot weather has slowed the frogs’ migration, and wildlife charity Froglife says amphibians often shelter and avoid moving in heat to prevent dehydration.
Organisers are taking it in stride, noting the event’s quirky charm (poetic briefings, visiting alpacas) and calling the frog disruption “a little bit daft.”
