Switzerland disputes US forced labour claims as new tariffs take effect

The U.S. has imposed tariffs of up to 12.5% on Swiss imports, effective July 24.
Switzerland rejects the forced‑labour allegations behind the move, saying the claims are unjustified and that forced labour is already banned under Swiss law.
Swiss business group Economiesuisse warns the tariffs raise export costs and leave Swiss firms at a disadvantage versus competitors in the EU and Britain.
