Jaguar Land Rover will cut 4,000 jobs to reduce costs and compete with China
- Jaguar Land Rover will cut about 4,000 jobs worldwide over two years to save £1.7bn and free up £15–18bn for electrification and digital investment.
- Most of the reductions will hit its U.K. operations (it employs roughly 34,000 in Britain) as it tries to compete with cheaper Chinese EV makers.
- The company has been squeezed by tariffs, rising costs and a past cyberattack that stopped production—and the U.K. government says it won’t provide a bailout.
