Roche, Eli Lilly's Alzheimer's blood test gets FDA clearance

FDA cleared Roche/Eli Lilly's Elecsys pTau217 blood test to help detect Alzheimer's-related changes in people 55+ with cognitive decline.
The test can run on thousands of existing Roche lab analyzers and will be offered by Labcorp and Quest, potentially making testing much more accessible.
It's less invasive than PET scans or spinal taps but isn't a standalone diagnosis; price hasn't been disclosed.
