Dredging works to improve historic port begins
- Dredging has begun on Truro’s river to deepen the upper quays and lengthen the tidal window so more boats can use Town Quay, Garras Wharf and Worth's Quay.
- Funded by the Truro Town Deal, the work (Aug–Nov during high tides) also includes a new dinghy/day-boat pontoon and improvements to pathways, surfacing and railings.
- Organisers say ecological assessments and permissions are in place and the scheme is aimed at boosting the port’s long-term vitality, visitor appeal and local businesses.
