NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Receives Extension, Keeping Him In Job Through 2030

NFL owners gave Roger Goodell a four-year extension, keeping him commissioner through the 2030 season (contract runs until March 31, 2031) — he’ll have led the league for about 24 years by then.
The deal is heavily performance-based — more than 95% of his pay is tied to Goodell’s and the league’s performance, the compensation committee said.
Under Goodell the NFL has pushed international growth, boosted revenue from about $8B (2010) to $23B (2024), and secured a 10-year CBA — but that CBA also expires in 2031, making that year a key turning point.
