Solar panel firm calls for future policy certainty

Local firm Power Roll is developing a breakthrough flexible solar film using cells smaller than a human hair — a cheaper, more flexible way to put solar on buildings.
The company, currently with about 35 staff, plans a full factory that could create up to 500 jobs in a deprived former‑coal area and already employs local apprentices.
Power Roll and the wider regional net‑zero sector are calling for political certainty on green policy and net‑zero commitments to lock in investment and avoid jobs moving overseas.
