Major Oak photo appeal launched after tree's death
- The famous Major Oak — the ancient Sherwood Forest oak linked to the Robin Hood legend and thought to be up to 1,200 years old — died on 18 June.
- Nottinghamshire’s Inspire library is asking people to upload photos and memories to its online archive to help preserve the tree’s appearance and story.
