GOP Sen. Dan Sullivan draws an unusual opponent in Alaska's primary — and he's not happy about it

Incumbent Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan says a second candidate with his name on Alaska’s primary ballot is a “dirty trick” to confuse voters and has threatened legal action.
The oddity has drawn national GOP attention because Alaska’s top-four primary could let voter confusion help Democrat Mary Peltola in this closely watched Senate race.
The other Dan J. Sullivan is a certified candidate from Petersburg — a longtime resident and former Forest Service worker turned teacher who says he’ll “put Alaska first.”
