US FDA approves Gilead's once-daily combination pill for HIV treatment

FDA cleared Gilead’s once-daily oral pill Bixlenvo for adults with HIV who are already virally suppressed.
It combines bictegravir (the resistance‑robust drug from Biktarvy) with lenacapavir, a novel capsid inhibitor that disrupts the virus’s shell.
Lenacapavir is already sold as Sunlenca (treatment) and Yeztugo (prevention), so this gives patients another convenient maintenance option—though HIV still has no cure.
