Tonight every MLB player will wear a No. 21 patch for Roberto Clemente Day, honoring the Pirates legend.
Clemente’s off-field work lives on through the Roberto Clemente Award, given annually to the player who best represents his commitment to community.
On the field he was incredible — a .317 career hitter, 3,000 hits, 12 Gold Gloves, 1966 NL MVP and 1971 World Series MVP, all in 18 seasons with the Pirates.
