Hal Steinbrenner Backs Boone, Cashman and Blames Yankees Players for Early Exit

Hal Steinbrenner defended manager Aaron Boone and GM Brian Cashman after the playoff loss, saying the players didn’t live up to their end in October.
The Yankees have now gone 17 seasons without a World Series — matching their longest drought — and were swept by the Rays in the ALDS after a 93–68 regular season.
Boone has one year left on his extension and insists on not publicly calling out players, while Cashman has agreed to a new contract and remains the long‑tenured GM.
