'I had stage four cancer at 14, now I'm a doctor'

Ellie Waters-Barnes, who survived an aggressive soft-tissue cancer as a teen, has graduated in medicine and will begin work as a Foundation Doctor at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Her 18 months of treatment left lasting effects (including early menopause) and ongoing checks, but also fuelled her passion for medicine.
She says surviving cancer gave her a patient’s perspective—a "superpower" she hopes will make her a more empathetic doctor.
