Yankees Retire Hall of Famer CC Sabathia's No. 52, Gets Monument Park Plaque

CC Sabathia had his number retired and a plaque unveiled in Monument Park, joining fellow 2009 Yankees champions like Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.
He called the honor more meaningful than his Hall of Fame induction, saying he never expected to win over New York and celebrated the moment with his family.
Sabathia is a first‑ballot Hall of Famer (2025) after a 19‑season career with 3,093 strikeouts—third among lefties—and 11 impactful years with the Yankees.
