Charges dropped against California radiologist who drove Tesla carrying family off cliff

Radiologist Dharmesh Patel had attempted‑murder charges dismissed after completing a two‑year court‑ordered mental‑health diversion program, which under the law meant the case was wiped from his record.
In Jan. 2023 he drove his Tesla off a 250‑foot cliff on the Pacific Coast Highway; his wife and two young children were injured but all survived.
His wife said she forgave him and the family reunited after his release; Patel also surrendered his California medical license.
