France Expected To Announce Zinedine Zidane As New Coach Early Next Week

Zinedine Zidane is widely expected to be announced as France's new coach next Tuesday, the French Football Federation says.
Zidane, out of management since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, won three straight Champions League titles there and is a national icon after starring in France's 1998 World Cup win.
France's next games — away to Turkey (Sept. 25), Belgium (Sept. 28) and home to Italy (Oct. 2) — will be an early test for the incoming coach.
