Bystander severely wounded outside White House says Secret Service failed him

An active-duty soldier visiting the White House was struck by a stray bullet during a May 23 shooting and now plans to sue the Secret Service for $25 million, alleging a botched response.
He suffered life-threatening abdominal injuries, has had parts of his colon and small intestine removed, has undergone multiple surgeries and faces an uncertain military future.
The gunman was killed after Secret Service returned fire, but ballistics are pending and investigators have not yet confirmed whether an agent’s bullet hit the soldier.
