Iran denounces Austria for blocking its nuclear chief from a meeting in Vienna

Iran condemned Austria for refusing a visa to the head of its Atomic Energy Organization, calling the move a breach of its IAEA membership rights.
Austria says it had to deny the visa after a U.N. sanctions committee — with a U.S. objection — refused to grant an exemption.
The spat comes amid wider tensions: the IAEA hasn’t been allowed into sites hit in June 2025 and reports Iran holds uranium enriched to about 60%, prompting a rare referral to the U.N. Security Council.
