5.5 magnitude earthquake hits Peru's Andes region and kills at least 6 people

A 5.5-magnitude quake near Sicaya in the Peruvian Andes killed at least six people, injured 30+ and displaced around 300 residents.
The 1565 "Santiago de León" church and former convent — a national heritage site — and many adobe buildings were badly damaged.
Families were left huddled outdoors seeking shelter; the tremor is a reminder Peru sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" where earthquakes are common.
