Unused medicines 'costing Jersey £500k a year'

Jersey says unused medicines cost about £500,000 a year (and up to 10% of medicines are wasted in the UK).
The government is urging people to check what they already have and only order items they currently need; pharmacies are putting “check your medicines before leaving” labels on prescriptions.
The campaign isn’t about restricting treatment—patients can still request repeats—but medicines can’t be reused once dispensed, even if unopened.
