11 people rescued after seaplane crashes and burns off Washington coast

All 11 people aboard a Kenmore Air seaplane survived an emergency water landing near Sucia Island and were taken to hospitals — seven have been discharged and three remain hospitalized in satisfactory condition.
The aircraft beached on rocks and later caught fire; the wreckage will be moved Friday as the NTSB and FAA investigate the cause.
The flight was a Kenmore Air de Havilland DHC-3 Otter (a 1960s-era floatplane) bound from Lake Union to Roche Harbor in the popular San Juan Islands; Kenmore canceled flights and is cooperating with authorities.
