Israel says its forces have cleared Hezbollah fighters from tunnels under the strategic Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon, a fiercely contested area; Hezbollah hasn’t commented and Reuters couldn’t independently verify the claim.
As part of U.S.-brokered confidence-building measures, Israel released five Lebanese detainees via the ICRC — one described long periods of solitary confinement and psychological strain.
