Florida Supreme Court leaves Republican congressional map in place

Florida's Supreme Court declined to block a new Republican-drawn congressional map, so it will likely be used in November's midterms.
The map could flip as many as four Democratic seats, boosting GOP chances—Republicans already hold 20 of Florida's 28 U.S. House seats.
Democrats have sued, calling it partisan gerrymandering; the candidate filing deadline is this Friday and primaries are in August.
