Giants RB Cam Skattebo: 'Definitely' Considered Retiring After Ankle Injury

Nearly retired after a gruesome Week 8 injury (dislocated ankle, open tibia fracture, ruptured deltoid ligament) but says the setback gave him new drive and perspective.
He’s back — appeared in the Aug. 15 preseason game and is projected to be the Giants’ starting RB this season.
Before the injury he totaled 410 rushing yards and five TDs (plus 24 catches for 207 yards), including a Week 6 breakout: 98 yards and three TDs; a 2025 fourth‑round pick from Arizona State.
