Typhoon Saudel makes landfalls on China's eastern coast, disrupts travel

Typhoon Saudel struck China's eastern coast twice Friday — making landfall in Taizhou and Wenzhou — the third typhoon to hit Zhejiang this year.
Authorities ordered large-scale evacuations and halted travel: Wenzhou moved over 820,000 people, Taizhou flagged 52,000 for evacuation, and ferries and some trains were suspended.
Saudel is set to bring heavy, possibly torrential rain inland to Fujian and farther into Hubei, Guangxi and Yunnan, raising flood and disruption risks.
