I've gotten over a dozen Amazon drone deliveries. The 35 seconds of noise are worth the convenience, novelty, and fun.

  • Tamara, a Phoenix-area professor and content creator, has used Amazon Prime Air a dozen+ times and says the convenience and novelty — like having clarinet reeds delivered — make it worth trying.
  • The drones are very quick but noisy for about 30–40 seconds (a windy drop that can stir grass); she finds it no more disruptive than a leaf blower or passing airplane.
  • Safety and privacy features matter: drones abort if optics detect people or pets, deliveries are limited to ~5 pounds, and users can opt not to save camera footage (service was briefly paused after one midair collision).
