Former Red Sox Skipper Alex Cora Reportedly Turns Down Phillies Job

Alex Cora has turned down the Phillies again — he told the team he plans to sit out the 2027 season.
Cora and Phillies president Dave Dombrowski have deep ties (they won the 2018 World Series together), and Dombrowski still speaks highly of him.
Interim manager Don Mattingly revitalized the club (Philly went 79-55 under him and made the wild card) but his long-term status with the team remains unclear.
