Human Rights Watch says the Taliban detained 6 staff of a women’s and children’s rights group

Taliban authorities reportedly detained six staff from a Kabul-based women-and-children rights group after summoning them to retrieve confiscated devices, with families left uninformed.
The U.N. also says two Afghan staff were detained in Herat, raising wider concerns about the safety of aid and U.N. personnel as the Taliban mark five years in power.
The incidents come amid a deepening humanitarian crisis, continued restrictions on women and girls since 2021, and rising cross-border tensions with Pakistan.
