Poultry firm recalls nearly 1.6 million dozen eggs over potential salmonella, US FDA says

Nearly 1.6 million dozen white and brown cage-free eggs from Midwest Poultry Services (produced in Texas) were recalled over potential Salmonella Enteritidis contamination.
The eggs were sold at Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana and at Brookshire Grocery stores in several Southern states; the producer has halted distribution.
No illnesses have been reported so far; Salmonella from eggs can cause cramps, diarrhea, fever and nausea within 12–72 hours of eating.
