FDA clears first over-the-counter glucose monitor for children

The FDA cleared Dexcom’s Stelo as the first over‑the‑counter continuous glucose monitor for kids — now available for ages 2 and up who do not use insulin.
It’s a wearable sensor with a smartphone app that shows glucose readings and trends every 15 minutes; each sensor can last up to 15 days and can help families see how meals and activity affect levels.
It’s not meant for people with problematic low blood sugar; children should use it under adult supervision and users should check with a healthcare provider before changing medications.
