NFL Rules Players Returning To College Ineligible As Big 12 Follows Suit

NFL reiterated that players who sign pro contracts and then try to return to college will be ineligible to play in 2026 and would only become free agents in 2027.
The SEC and Big Ten have banned (with the ACC and Big 12 also discussing similar moves) allowing former NFL-rostered players back into college programs.
Two undrafted players waived this offseason — Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris — want to return to LSU to play for Lane Kiffin and are part of broader NCAA eligibility disputes.
