Armenia's ruling party leads parliamentary vote with 54% in early results

Ruling Civil Contract is leading with about 54% in early results, signaling strong support for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
This was Armenia's first election since the 2023 defeat by Azerbaijan and is seen as a test of Pashinyan’s push to deepen ties with the West and seek a peace deal (and possible normalization with Turkey).
Turnout was high at nearly 59%, while the pro‑Russian Strong Armenia alliance trailed in second with roughly 22%, highlighting a split over Armenia’s foreign direction.
