Fire engulfs 33 hybrid cars at docks compound

Thirty-three hybrid cars caught fire at a vehicle compound by Southampton Docks, sending thick black smoke across the area.
A large response — 10 fire engines, two water carriers, an aerial ladder platform and a high‑flow ground monitor — was used to tackle the blaze.
The early‑morning fire prompted residents to keep doors and windows closed; thankfully no injuries were reported.
