Seaside parking fines increase for second year
- Heads-up for visitors: Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council is repeating a trial that more than doubled parking fines, running 4–31 August — illegal parking penalties are much higher this summer.
- The council says the tougher fines worked: they issued 7% fewer fines in 2025 and saw no drop in visitor numbers.
- Penalties are steep — serious illegal parking can be charged up to £160 (reduced to £80 if paid within 14 days), with £100 wheel-clamp and £280 vehicle-release fees across 543 coastal roads.
