Andy Burnham poised to become Britain's next PM after most Labour lawmakers support him

Andy Burnham is on the brink of becoming Britain’s next prime minister after an overwhelming show of support from Labour MPs.
He has 322 out of 403 nominations — just one short of the 323 needed to block any rival from entering the contest.
Nominations close next Thursday and he’s expected to be formally anointed as Labour leader and named prime minister on July 20.
