Five Eyes security alliance warns of Chinese espionage threat

Five Eyes countries warned Chinese military intelligence is using online job and networking sites to recruit people with access to sensitive government, military and economic information.
Targets include defence, foreign‑affairs and military staff (especially in the Indo‑Pacific), plus journalists and think‑tank employees; recruits are reportedly paid per report and pressured for more sensitive data.
The joint bulletin — described as unprecedented — drew a sharp denial from China, which called the claims “fabrication and malicious slander.”
