- Brandon Woodruff made the Brewers’ World Series roster despite not having pitched in 3½ months after a shoulder scare that looked like it might end his season — he avoided surgery and has been rehabbing to get back for October.
- Milwaukee took a clear gamble, replacing Chad Patrick with Woodruff on the 13-man pitching staff; rules mean they couldn’t swap him out later if the shoulder flares up.
- Woodruff is a two-time All-Star with a career 3.10 ERA (best in Brewers history among pitchers with 500+ innings) and says the playoffs are “my jam” — a great comeback storyline for the Series.
