Boy, 11, died after crossing road to his mother

An 11-year-old boy, Seth Fulton, died on 17 April in Chaddesden, Derby, after being struck by a bus and then a car while cycling across the road; the coroner ruled it was not safe for him to cross and neither driver had sufficient time to avoid the crash.
His parents remember him as adventurous, cheeky and full of life — he loved skateboarding, BMX riding, wildlife and had a booming personality.
The case and the inquest finding have prompted renewed conversation about child road safety and supervising young cyclists.
