How Did Bo Nix Regress From ‘Kid Clutch’ Into The NFL’s Most Conservative QB?

Bo Nix has been playing very conservatively this year — few downfield throws and lots of checkdowns, so the offense is missing explosive plays.
A midseason coaching shuffle (Davis Webb briefly calling plays, then Sean Payton taking over and reverting terminology) has disrupted timing with new pieces like Jaylen Waddle.
The Broncos sit 4-2 but look fragile — a softer stretch (Cardinals, then a bye) gives them a chance to regroup before a critical run of games.
