Chinese memory chipmaker CXMT sues Pentagon over 'Chinese military company' designation

ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), China’s top DRAM maker, sued the Pentagon after being designated as a company “aiding” Beijing’s military, saying it only makes civilian memory chips.
CXMT argues the designation risks government contracting bans and reputational damage and seeks removal after what it calls a confusing back-and-forth over its listing.
The lawsuit follows a similar legal challenge by Alibaba and highlights rising U.S.–China tensions over major tech firms.
