FEMA official who claimed he teleported to Waffle House ousted from agency, sources say

Gregg Phillips, a newly appointed FEMA response chief known for bizarre claims — including that he was “teleported” to a Waffle House — has been pushed out of the agency.
He was appointed despite a history of promoting 2020 election conspiracy theories and inflammatory rhetoric; DHS says he’s on leave, but sources say the departure wasn’t voluntary.
Even so, some career FEMA officials praised him for resisting efforts to shrink the agency, and President Trump called the teleportation claim “a little strange.”
